Is “Theo” the Greek version of Antoine Rigaudeau? Problably yes but a decade later. Two meters tall, he is the play-maker of the next generation. After a long career in a local Athens teams, his career exploded when transferred to Panionios. From then he became well known in Greece. His Olympiacos experience wasn’t too successful but he found his “Ithaki” in Russia, together with Dusan Ivkovic (he was his coach in Panionios too). He can pass the ball from anywhere to anybody but he also loves to steal the ball in the middle of the court to finish with a great dunk. He is a cerebral player, his friends used to say, as he doesn’t want to be very anxious. If you pressure him you may not have the results you want, but if you let him free to do on his own inside the court, you will have great results. “Mitos” as his nickname is because of his… big nose (“myti” in Greek) is a player who stubs his opponents… |
