17.01.2008 - Kaukenas K.O.'d For Season
Rimantas Kaukenas

Career: Seton Hall University (USA-NCAA, 1996-00), Galil Elion Hapoel (Israel-Premier League, 2000-01), Lietuvos rytas Vilnius (Lithuania-LKL, 2001-02), Telindus Ostende (Belgium-D1, 2002-03), Telekom Baskets Bonn (Germany-Bundesliga, 2003-04), Vertical Vision Cantu (Italy-Lega, 2004-05), Montepaschi Sienna (Italy-Lega, 2005-07)

After playing for five different teams in five years, Kaukenas finally found a club where he’s a perfect fit. In the last two seasons with Montepaschi Sienna, the athletic Lithuanian guard has averaged nearly 15 points per game. This spring he has already helped his Italian side earn a ticket back to the Euroleague for next year after Siena secured first-place in the Lega regular-season standings.  Despite success at several different clubs, Kaukenas has not put on National Team jersey since 2003. Now, four years later, new Lithuanian national team coach Ramunas Butautas has talked Kaukenas out of retirement.
