Nuno Marçal would be a key player for any team but especially so for the Portuguese. The Campamha native is tall, can shoot the three and uses his quickness in attacking the basket from the baseline. If he can remain focused and avoid his trademark inconsistency, he could be nearly unstoppable. This season, he returned to Portugal after playing in Spain’s Liga LEB for two years. Things have been going very well as he has averaged 17.5 points per game (56% shooting from inside the arc and 40% from outside) while also grabbing 5.0 rebounds per game this season. His captaincy of F.C. Porto, the only Portuguese club he has ever played for, has made him more of a leader. If he manages to maintain this consistent level of play and focuses a bit more on defense, Marcal could have a great EuroBasket. His experience in international competition is a plus for the National Team.
