PLAYER PROFILE

Career: Würzburg (Germany-2.Bundesliga, 1997-98), Würzburg (Germany-Bundesliga, 1998-2002), Leverkusen (Germany-Bundesliga, 2002-05), Berlin (Germany-Bundesliga, 2005-07).

Demond “Desmond” Greene was the only German player who came back from the disappointing World Championships in Japan with some positive memories. Not only did he have a sensational block against reigning NBA champion Dwayne Wade, but the shooting guard also developed into Germany`s second offensive option. Known for his athletic ability and his defensive qualities Greene established himself as a reliable three-point threat. Greene’s development is rather curious considering he started his career as a track and field athlete. After suffering a major foot injury in December 2006, he hit four of five three balls in his comeback game in May 2007 for his club team Alba Berlin.
