Career: BC Sumykhimprom (Ukraine-Superleague, 2002-05).
Here is a young guard whose career in on the rise... Artem Butskyy never appeared with a Ukrainian national team in any major youth tournaments. Still, he worked on his game with reckless abandon with BC Sumykhimprom, finishing first in the Superleague in assists (6.3) and second in steals (2.2) this season... His improvement was noted by powerhouse BC Kyiv’s new sports director Rany Kahana who offered him a three year contract. Of course, Butskyy quickly agreed saying it would be a great opportunity to play in the EuroCup and to attract the attention of the national team coach... Coach Hennadiy Zaschuk called him probably earlier than he expected as his ability to nail the outside shot will nicely complement Oleksandr Rayevskyy. |
