Carlos Andrade is a pure warrior who battles hard all game long. The Benefica star has only been able to play for Portugal’s National Team since 2005 as he was still a citizen of Cape Verde prior to that. Basketball is in his blood as his sister Mery Andrade spent several seasons in the WNBA and played last season at Phard Napoli in the Italian League. Carlos is a good defensive and team player, as well as a good shooter from outside the three-point arch. He is a solid rebounder for a player his size and can guard bigger opponents on defense. Andrade was an important part of Portugal’s qualifying success and he has quite a bit of European experience, playing for Queluz and Frankfurt in the ULEB CUP. He posted 10.4 points and 4.5 rebounds for Benfica Lisboa in 2006-07 and helped the club to a second-place finish.
