PLAYER PROFILE

Career: Zadar (Croatia-A1, 1996-98), Karlovac (Croatia-A2, 1998-99), Benston Zagreb (Croatia-A1, 1999-2000), Cibona Zagreb (Croatia-A1, 2000-02), Zadar (Croatia-A1, 2002-04), Cibona Zagreb (Croatia-A1, 2004-05), Caja San Fernando (Spain-Liga ACB, 2005-07)

After two seasons in Europe's top league, Liga ACB, Longin has become mentally stronger and a much better player than he was before he left Croatia.  A very good shooter from three-point range and an excellent free-throw shooter, he is also solid on defense, which will be important in earning the confidence of coach Repesa.  Right now, Branimir is considered the best option to replace NBA star Gordan Giricek at shooting guard.  After two good seasons in Sevilla (7.8 ppg in 2006-07), Longin deserves a chance with a Euroleague team. The 29-year-old won the U18 European Championship in 1996 with teammate Nikola Vujcic. On that team, Longin was a back-up for Josip Sesar, averaging 5.0 points per game in 17 minutes of action.
