It will be interesting to see if Planinic could find his minutes curtailed slightly in this tournament although having spent a year under the tutelage of legendary Italian coach Ettore Messina in Moscow, he seems to be a more controlled and efficient player than in previous seasons. Once regarded as one of the most promising players of his generation, it is questionable whether this big talent has truly fulfilled his potential, although after top scoring for the team in last years Olympics and with many Euroleague seasons under his belt it is hard to ignore his pedigree. Didn't make a big impression in the NBA, but can definitely direct the traffic when needed and make some shots. Has class and it will be intriguing to see how he is used in comparison to Ukic.
