Career: Levski Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 1999-2000), Velbajd Kjustendil (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2000-01), Academic Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2001-03), CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2003-…).

A banger. At 2.06 m and 110 kilos, Stefan Georgiev, nicknamed "Toro", is a strong and active power forward. Intense defensively, he prefers to play high post on offense, in order to use his soft shooting touch or his quickness on the drive. An accurate player, he made 70.7% of his shots last season in the FIBA Europe League with CSKA Sofia ! Overall, he averaged 6.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in the competition. A national champion in 2000 with Levski Sofia and in 2003 with Academic, he helped his team win the Cup of Bulgaria last season. His mother, Petkana Makaveeva, is a former member of the national team who won two Olympic medals, in 1976 (bronze) and 1980 (silver).
