Intense defensively, he prefers to play high post on offense, in order to use his soft shooting touch or his quickness on the drive. An accurate player, he made 70.7% of his shots last season in the FIBA Europe League with CSKA Sofia ! Overall, he averaged 6.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in the competition. A national champion in 2000 with Levski Sofia and in 2003 with Academic, he helped his team win the Cup of Bulgaria last season. His mother, Petkana Makaveeva, is a former member of the national team who won two Olympic medals, in 1976 (bronze) and 1980 (silver). |
