The guard has certainly had an eventful season after making a mid season switch from one Euroleague club to another as he swapped Slovenia for Spain. After playing a role off the bench in the star studded TAU Ceramica roster that picked up the Copa Del Rey and Spanish regular league title, he then sustained an injury and missed most of the last part of the season. Ilievski is not exactly a spectacular player but one look at the glittering list of clubs he has played for and you realise that effectiveness and consistency are his strengths. A great team player and defensively sound, only the lack of a consistent three-point shot stops him from making an even bigger impact. A great passer and decision maker, he is smart enough to get to the hoop and either make the lay-up or draw foul shots. He has extensive experience and returns to Eurobasket having played well as a 19-year-old in 1999. |
