Romania used a dominant third quarter to defeat Cyprus on Saturday night 68-65 in EuroBasket Division B qualifying.

Cyprus had their noses in front for most of the first half taking a well-earned 40-30 lead into the half-time break.

Ireland trailed by six at half-time but then put forth a devastating third-quarter effort and used that as a platform for 76-70 victory against Cyprus.

In a battle of winless teams, Cyprus led by as many as 10 points in the first half but after holding a 44-38 advantage at half-time, they caved in.
