Team 2008-09: OLYMPIAKOS PIRAEUS (Greece-ESAKE) Career: Karditsa (Greece-3rd Division, 1998-2000), AEK Athens (Greece-ESAKE, 2000-06), Olympiakos Piraeus (Greece-ESAKE, 2006-09)
Ioannis Bourousis is a center who is one of the steadiest players at Olympiacos, providing the team with scoring both inside and outside, along with rebounds and blocked shots. A kind of late bloomer, he exploded under the national team jersey last summer, during the Olympic Qualifying tournament and then the Olympics, taking advantage of Lazaros Papadopoulos' absence. Yannis confirmed with Olympiakos this season (12.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game). After a win over Panathinaikos last season, in which he made 3 of 4 three-point shots, Bourousis claimed to be the tallest three-point specialist in the world! The truth is that Bourousis is a pretty useful tool, proving to be a capable scorer as well as rebounder and shot blocker. A funny guy who always likes to joke with his teammates. |
