Guard Anton Ponkrashov: "Before the game coach said that we didn't shoot well yesterday and made a lot of turnovers so we had to improve that, and that's what we did. Our opponent made 15 turnovers and we only ten. We made a good job also in rebound. Coach asked us to stop Tapiro and that's what we did."

Israel

Coach Zvi Sherf: "Congratulations to Russia for the win. Unfortunately we played very bad and below our level. We have to play better. Russia played very well. Maybe part of what Blatt said about tiredness is true. We have to find in the next 24 hours a way to come to the game against Serbia to play our best.”

“I'm not happy and satisfied with the way we played, but we have to recover for tomorrow, because this is how it works in EuroBasket.”

“At some point we saw that we have no chance to win, so we let a few bench players to play more so we'll share the tiredness. From now on we must think only on how to play better tomorrow.”
