Hard work and strong character are keys to Pluta’s long and fabulous career. He is the second player, after Adam Wojcik, to return to the National Team after a break at the prompting of new coach Andrej Urlep’s appointment. The Ruda Slaska native won his first Polish title at Anwil with Urlep in 2003.  The 33-year-old player is still the best Polish three-point shooter and his shooting ability is famous not only in Poland, but also all over Europe. He played very well in the qualifying round for EuroBasket 1997 but did not play particularly well in the final round. Three times Pluta won the three-point shooting contest at the Polish All-Star Game and his record for three-point shots made in one game is 11. Last season was very good one for Pluta as he finished with 15.6 points per game. This old gun can still fire!
