Russia forward Vladimir Dyachok has missed the team's first training camp for EuroBasket 2007 after picking up an ankle injury.
The Khimki Moscow player was expected to join the squad at the camp in Moscow between July 23 and 31, but was unable to figure in coach David Blatt's initial preparations for September's competition.
There was better news for Blatt however with the presence of Dynamo Moscow guard Sergei Bykov.
Bykov had suffered a reaction to an insect bite on holiday in Turkey, but was able to take part in a reduced training schedule as he continues his recovery.
Russia's second training camp will be held in Latvia between August 2 and 10.
In Spain, Russia will contest Group A against Serbia, Greece and the team that wins the additional qualifying tournament.
