France
Coach Claude Bergeaud: "I'm very proud of my players . The Slovenian team won the game. We were in the game for three quarters, and in the last one they shot with an unbelievable accuracy, especially from long range."
"Our physical shape wasn't at its best. This tournament was a great disappointment for us. We had an ambition before the tournament, and we knew it could turn one way or the other."
"We came very close to beating Russia (in the quarter-finals), but after we lost, we lost something. It was a good game with a good balance, but in the whole tournament our game was irregular."
"We are always talking about the future in France. But in competitions like this, you never see teams win with young players. Our team is young. The leaders are only 25 years old, and when we play against teams with veteran leaders, we have no players. So I hope for national team that this team will stay for a long time, with new talents joining the team."
Guard Joseph Gomis: "We played bad, especially in the last quarter. We gave good intensity during the whole game. At some point they scored a lot of points in the last quarter, and we couldn't respond."
Slovenia
Coach Ales Pipan: "We're happy now. It wasn't easy after the two last losses, but thanks to my players they showed a great performance today."
"We played the game, and had some problems in the first half, especially on defense. But we fixed that in the second half. We were very good in rebounds in the last quarter. My players were great tonight and I'm proud of them. At this moment I don't know who'll be the coach of the team, because my contract has expired now. We'll see what's going on in the next few months. But for Slovenian basketball it's very important to reach the Olympic games. It was a very tough tournament for us, because I had only eight or nine in the rotation. We were together in good and bad moments, and for us to be in the top eight teams in Europe it's a big success."
Center Radoslav Nesterovic: "A great effort from all the players after two disappointing losses. I hope the whole team will be back next year in the pre-Olympic games, and I hope we're going to make it then. This was a very important thing for Slovenian basketball. It feels good to be among the top eight teams in Europe, coming from a small country with only two million people. (Jaka) Lakovic was amazing tonight and in the entire tournament. He proved that he's a great player that will give it all for the team."
